Charter Council

The Charter Council meets three times per year as an advisory body in order to give parent and staff input on the school programs, fiscal matters and parent concerns. It is comprised of 2 parent members, 2 staff members, and the School Director.

Charter Council Biographies

Susan Campbell

• Parent Member
• I am happy to be part of the Camptonville Academy homeschooling family. I attended California State University at Chico graduating with a BA in Liberal Arts and a teaching credential. I went on to teach elementary school children in southern California for five years. After my husband and I had our first child, we moved back to the Yuba-Sutter area and I became an at-home mom. Later, I returned to the classroom as a substitute, teaching at my children’s school for preschool through eighth grades. I began homeschooling my oldest child when he was in fifth grade; the following year my daughter joined us. Being teacher to my own kids is most rewarding. It also has unique challenges not typical of a classroom environment. We have been homeschooling through Camptonville Academy for four years now. We enjoy the extra activities and learning experiences that our school offers along with the benefit of working at our own pace. In addition to teaching my own children, I work part time for an exchange student agency, overseeing foreign students who are visiting and or studying in our local community. I reside in Yuba City with my husband, Steve, and children ages 13, 11, and 3.
